Yoga Warriors is now a member of Central Contractor Registration (CCR)  

Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is the primary registrant database for the U.S. Federal Government. CCR collects, validates, stores and disseminates data in support of agency acquisition missions. 
 
What Is It?
Our Yoga Warriors teacher training is designed to provide advance knowledge and practical tools for yoga teachers working with combat veterans diagnosed with Combat and Operational Stress Reaction (COSR) or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  The Yoga Warriors method skillfully integrates concepts from yoga therapy, traditional yoga philosophy, and psychology, with current scientific knowledge of the body and mind to promote health and well-being. 
 
Learning Objectives
 
  • The training is designed to provide advance knowledge and practical tools for yoga teachers working with combat veterans diagnosed with Combat and Operational Stress Reaction (COSR)  or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). 
  • Understand that PTSD is an anxiety disorder and that the Yoga Warriors Method activates the Parasympathetic Nervous System.
  • Understand the Neurophysiology of PTSD/COSR and corresponding specific treatments within the Yoga Warriors Method.
  • Understand Hatha yoga postures and sequencing strategies.
  • Demonstrate effective pranayama techniques (breathing exercises) to reduce hyper arousal.
  • Demonstrate Positive Affirmations and understand the “top-down” concept within the Yoga Warriors Method.

Training Includes:  
 
  • 96 page Manual and  YWI Teaching
  • Certificate or Certificate of Attendance
Prerequisite: 
 
200 or 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacheror mental health professional
 
Proof of yoga teacher training certificate is required before receiving the certificate to teach YWI.  Otherwise, you will receive a certificate of attendancestating you have  attended the training.

Who Should Attend?
This program is for certified yoga teachers registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level (minimum).
 
Open to certified yoga teachers inspired to facilitate healing to those with PTSD or Combat Stress Disorder and to certified yoga teachers who work with (or would like to work with) active-duty military personnel or veterans. Only certified yoga teachers will be qualified to teach the Yoga Warriors program in a classroom setting.
 
  • Those that are not certified yoga teachers are invited to attend and will receive a “certificate of attendance” which may be applied towards yoga certification if you decide to go through a 200 hr program and become registered with the National Yoga Alliance within 2 years.

16 CEU's and a manual and certificate to teach "Yoga Warriors" (200 hour or better certified yoga teacher only)
 
Yoga For Amputees:
Taught by Marsha Therese Danzig, Yoga Teacher, RYT 500, M.ed , Founder and Director of Color Me Yoga™. In this 2 to 2 ½ hour workshop, you will learn: Types of amputation and reasons for amputation; Basic physical (major muscle groups and nerves affected), psychological and emotional effects of amputation (5 stages of grief); Observation skills for range of motion; Creative visualization- exercises to help amputees; How to safely adapt poses for above , below and upper extremity amputees
